We understand that after your surgery and the following months during healing, each surgery has different effects and the healed result can vary from client to client. Following reconstruction and the fully healed process of your breast reconstruction you will ideally be left with a flat healed skin surface or new nipple reconstruction with skin. This new and healed surface skin allows us to tattoo using 3d hyperrealism techniques to give you a realistic new niple otherwise known as the ‘Areola.’
If you are unsure on whether you are ready for this treatment we often ask you to consult with your oncologist/consultant or breast surgeon. And in most cases the skin should have turned white and not still be a healing pink to red colour.
Prior to or on the day you will have a thorough consultation to discuss your overall desired look. This is usually a 20-30 min consultation.
The process of Areola tattooing often takes approximately 1 -1.5 hours per side using permanent inks to prevent area fade and you having to return to this process on a regular basis.
We advise two treatments just like all our other treatments to complete the treatment often referred to as a ‘Top Up or colour boost.’ This second session is to strengthen the pigment, provide longevity, tweak any areas that the skin may sometimes push out slightly and provide the best overall 3d look we can achieve.
